Essential Oils at Ritzman Pharmacy

Dr. Hannah Cross, Managing Pharmacist at NEOMED

Hi, I’m Dr. Hannah Cross. I was raised in Portage County and still live on a farm here. Come see me at the Ritzman Pharmacy at NEOMED in Rootstown, and experience the Pharmacy of the Future.

About me

I recently was named Managing Pharmacist for the Ritzman location at NEOMED and I’m excited to be a part of the team. I grew up near Garrettsville, graduated from NEOMED’s College of Pharmacy and still call Portage County home. During the day you’ll find me behind the counter at NEOMED helping customers use our products to make their lives better, but at night I’m working on my farm. Ask me about some of my farming adventures!

Our essential oils

Essential oils can help people deal with a variety of health concerns. There has been a lot of buzz about them recently as more of their benefits are becoming well-documented. There’s definitely a science to using them and they also can be a lot of fun — so much so that I can’t stop buying them! It’s exciting to check out the latest recipes. Some of the many essential oils available at Ritzman help with:

  • Pain relief
  • Mood
  • Congestion
  • Muscle cramps
  • Skin hydration

Essential oils are a natural alternative to many chemical-filled products and can be used for other uses, like as house cleaners, hand soaps and even laundry detergent. I really like a spearmint and lemon-diffused work area (let me know if you’d like the recipe!).

If you are just starting to experiment with essential oils, be careful because some brands may not be suitable for pregnant women or children. Stop by our NEOMED location and I’d be glad to talk to you about what might be appropriate for you or your family – and I’d love to hear about your favorite recipes and how they are working for you.

Why Ritzman

Ritzman is locally owned and operated in Northeast Ohio. Our NEOMED location is on the main campus in Rootstown. Park in one of the front lots of state Route 44 and we’re on the right side upon entering the front glass building. Stop in and say hi; I love to meet more people in the area and give back to the community that has been so good for me.
